About Us

The El Tambor Project is an initiative that began in 2018 by a group of professors and students from the University of Los Andes, Venezuela, concerned about the conservation and restoration of the Andean cloud forest, as part of the Research Center for Integrated Risk Management (CIGIR), and with the support of different conservation funds, as well as members of the various communities that live in the surroundings of the El Tambor moorland.

The El Tambor Project team is made up of professionals from areas related to engineering and forestry sciences, as well as members of the communities surrounding El Tambor, who fully know the geography of the area, as well as its flora and fauna.
