Our Mission

The mission of Proyecto El Tambor is to conserve and restore the Andean cloud forest, raising awareness of its importance among the communities that live around El Tambor and encouraging them to work with us on successful restoration practices.

Protecting a unique ecosystem

Our Vision

We want to protect this "continental island" that is El Tambor, its landscapes, its flora and fauna, and the people who live there, by carrying out successful restoration activities in this ecosystem:

Achieving landscape-level transformations
Protect water sources with vegetation so that they do not disappear during droughts, harming communities.
Connecting forest fragments to facilitate the safe movement of wildlife from one place to another.
Establish special protection areas, in agreement with the communities, to prevent deforestation.
To raise awareness among children, youth, and adults to encourage the conservation of the cloud forest, to debunk harmful myths about the fauna, which promote its indiscriminate hunting, and to teach about sustainable development
